Woman in agriculture – public policies to advance family farming and food practices
This research is part of my Master’s studies: I have talked with 17 women about their perceptions on the impact of 03 social programs applied in Brazil in their food practices. I have chosen a rural community from the Northeast of the country, a region with lower socio-economic indicators when compared with the rest of the country.
The method used to understand their perspectives was qualitative research. After listening to their stories a few themes emerged, and from that, the results were created.
The goal now is to use the PhD program to give continuity to this research, in a participatory study where educational programs regarding nutrition and non-communicable diseases will be implemented and the results tested.
